Wade Guemmer is a Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) with Money Concepts Capital Corp. and Benefit Planning Inc., in Blue Springs, Missouri, located outside of Kansas City.  BPI has been in business since 1987.  It is an organization which specializes in federal benefit planning for Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) and Federal Employee Retirement System (FERS) employees. Wade joined BPI to help federal employees understand and navigate their benefits and provide guidance for integrating their benefits package into their personal financial plan.  Whether a client is just starting out on their financial journey or breaking free from career responsibilities and moving into retirement, Wade provides the latest information and advice to help guide his clients through each stage of life.

HISTORY

Wade is the fourth generation in his family to provide services in the financial industry.  His grandfather and great grandfather were both bank presidents.  His father worked as a stockbroker on Wall Street until he followed his father, Wade’s grandfather, into the banking industry.  Wade began his financial career after graduating from South East Missouri State University.  He began working in the federal market in Germany in 1989 where he provided life insurance products to active military and civil service employees. After spending four years in Germany, he returned to the United States and, in 1994, joined BPI, an independent network of financial advisors. He welcomed the opportunity to work with anyone seeking financial advice, however, his area of focus became helping federal employees work through the intricate federal system to help maximize their benefits and prepare for retirement.

Knowledgeable about federal Thrift Savings Plans as well as federal retirement benefits, Wade has been a frequent presenter on FERS and CSRS retirement systems, including specialized law enforcement retirement planning.  In 2005, Wade obtained his CFP® designation which binds him to a fiduciary duty with his clients. Wade’s approach to financial planning is to really get to know his clients well.  He wants to understand what kind of legacy they want to leave and to whom they want to leave it.  This process takes time that Wade is happy and willing to spend.

Benefit Planning, Inc. has provided financial advice, financial planning and estate planning services to federal employees since 1987. Since joining BPI, Wade has developed an in-depth understanding of the federal benefits system, including Thrift Saving Plan (TSP), Social Security Benefits, Federal Employee Group Life Insurance (FEGLI), CSRS/FERS Annuity calculations, CSRS/FERS Survivor Benefits, sick leave calculations, Military buy backs, CSRS Voluntary contributions and deposits and re-deposits.

Wade provides educational seminars and training sessions to government agencies in multiple states across the country.  Agency references include the FBI, U.S. Bankruptcy Courts, IRS, VA, Social Security Administration (SSA), Federal Student Aid (FSA), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Corp of Engineers, to name a few.
